Iroquois Confederacy

In Grade 6 Social class I had my students do research projects for the Iroquois Confederacy. They had to research where the Confederacy was, who was involved, longhouses, wampum, clan mothers, Tree of Peace, and how decisions were made.

I also tasked the students to create something representative of the Haudenosaunee people. I had some students create Wampum belts, bake authentic food, or create digital items in Minecraft. Here are some examples of their work.
