Establishing Inclusive Learning Environments

I think the teaching philosophy I developed is the best way I can show me being inclusive. As a student that fell through the cracks multiple times I feel like I have the inside knowledge needed to ensure students always feel safe and equal.

My Teaching Philosophy

The focus of my teaching will always be centered around the fact that every student is unique. Every moment in their lives that have led them up to this very second has shaped and influenced them in a plethora of ways and as such I must always be prepared to teach in as many ways. I believe it is my responsibility as a teacher to provide students with:

· A safe environment that promotes critical thinking

· The knowledge they will need to be successful

· Every opportunity for personal growth and well-being

· A strong understanding as to why learning is important

· The ability to be creative and innovative collaboratively

· The skills they will need to be able to communicate effectively

· The importance of being a strong global citizen
