Inclusive Learning Environments

I feel like I am learning a lot of being inclusive this year. It hasn't been till I have spent a little time in a class that I have begun to realize the diverse level of needs that happens in a classroom.
In MHC we have talked a bit about students with different codes and medications, or students from different socio-economic backgrounds, or students dealing with loss, or coping with trauma that we can not possibly imagine. It never really dawned on me that all these things are happening all around us in every class and all at once. We don't get a student that needs help. We get a classroom of students with varying levels of needs that are needing to be met.
Sometimes a hug is all it takes to remind them they are not alone or sometimes it is a firm voice to have them stop lashing out. I do not think I knew that everything happens all at once and all year long. One fire gets put out and another one is there to take it's place.
